Applications of BBa_K1391106

Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (Syk) is a tyrosine kinase that has a high affinity for the phosphorylated immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) of the CD79A and CD79B proteins (components of the B-Cell Receptor Complex). Syk binds to the phosphorylated ITAM and the ITAM then phosphorylates Syk allowing Syk to initiate a downstream signalling cascade that ordinarily results in the proliferation of B-Cells during clonal selection. This part is under an inducible TRE promoter that requires the presence of both the activator rtTA and the antibiotic Doxycycline for transcription to occur.
